ABOUT ME

JOHN CURTIS

Founder and Chief Executive officer of Green Energy Capital Partners, LLC a Utility Scale Solar Development Company launched in April of 2007. Green Energy Capital Partners developed PA Solar Park the largest grid connected solar farm in Pennsylvania powering over 1,500 homes.  Pa Solar Park was commissioned in September 2012.  A second Phase, PA SolarPark II developed on adjacent property will enter into commercial operation in 2017 which will expand the solar farm to 23 MWdc and power 3,000 homes.   In  2002 he founded European Internet Services, LLC based in Rome, Italy where his team in Rome and Bangalore India developed several multimedia social platforms.  Prior to this he was the International Area Sales Manager with STERIS managing distribution in 28 countries selling medical capital equipment while living in Warsaw, Poland and Budapest, Hungary. Residing in the Philadelphia Area with his wife and two children.

Utility Scale Solar Development

  • Founded Green Energy Capital Partners, LLC a Utility Scale Solar Development Company in April 2007
  • Founded Green Energy Capital Partners Peru, LLC a Utility Scale Solar Development Company focused on Peru Development in October 2015
  • Negotiated all lease options, land leases, easements and third party ROW agreements to include transmission crossings over highway and RR
  • Negotiated and executed a Joint Project Development Agreement and EPC agreement with a Fortune 75 Energy Services company.
  • Managed two (2) 10MWac PJM RTO Queue Positions through Feasibility, Impact, and Facility studies
  • Executed Option To Build Construction Services Agreement and Interconnection Services Agreement
  • Coordinated all Environmental and Civil permitting through Carbon County Conservation District, PA Department of Environmental Protection and Army Corp of Engineers
  • Executed and managed the complete design of a 69KV Substation and (1) mile 69KV Transmission Line
  • Mitigated several Endangered Species issues with the Pennsylvania Natural Diversity Inventory (PNDI)
  • Managed all community outreach and stakeholder interests – completing Borough and County Zoning and Land Development Plans including execution of development agreement with Borough
  • Applied and awarded PA Solar Park $500,000 Pennsylvania Energy Harvest Grant, $5,500,000 Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority Grant and PA Solar Park II $750,000 Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority Grant
  • Developed and Commissioned PA Solar Park in October 2012 the largest grid-connected solar farm in Pennsylvania with a Capacity Rating of 10MWac/11.5MWdc and total cost of $45M.
  •        Developed a PA Solar Park II, a second phase with a Capacity Rating of 10MWac/11.5MWdc and total cost of $25M currently under construction with Commissioning expected in the fall of 2017.
  • Developed a shovel ready 120MWac, $175M grid connected utility scale solar energy facility in Peru.

STERIS and UNITED STATES SURGICAL CORPORATION

• From 1988 to 1995, Certified Stapling Technician, Senior Technical Representative, Key Hospital Manager and Regional Sales Director with United States Surgical Corporation (USSC) which was acquired by TYCO and is now COVIDIEN.  Responsible for complete conversions at Buffalo General Hospital, Milliard Fillmore Hospital, Roswell Park, Columbia Presbyterian, North Shore Memorial Hospital from the full line of ETHICON (Johnson and Johnson Subsidiary) Surgical Staplers and Minimally Invasive Surgical Devices to USSC. The total new business conversion valued at over $5M.
• From 1995 to 1999, International Area Sales Manager with STERIS, a Fortune 500 Company, managing independent distributors in Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Turkey.  Responsible for all product lines and new product introductions.  During this time sales increased over 300% with the aggressive introduction of new products.  As a result of significant growth, Mr. Curtis was awarded the International Area Sales Manager of the year in 1996, 1997 and 1998.
